As dental care providers, prevention of tooth decay and gum disease is our top priority. During your first visit, our dental hygienists will teach you the proper cleaning techniques in order to prevent future cavities. On each visit afterwards, you will be reminded of the same techniques to ensure a lifelong habit of healthy dental hygiene.
We pride ourselves on our commitment to taking the time to teach proper hygiene techniques and answer any questions you may have. We do not charge for this and believe it is the best service we can provide!
Follow these helpful recommendations to keep your teeth healthy between your AccuCare Dental Centers appointments:
Every 6 months, you’ll need to book a standard dental check up to ensure your oral health is actively maintained. As a dental office, our process for cleanings is fairly standard.
First we begin with a short a consultation, get a better understanding of what your past dental experiences have been, then we proceed to an exam, x-rays (if needed) and finally perform the cleaning. After your hygienist has finished the cleaning, you will be provided with a special fluoride that will help re-mineralize your teeth. This fluoride adds essential minerals to the layers of your enamel, effectively preventing tooth decay.
We also have a unique, optional add-on as a dental clinic. We offer protective sealants to all of our patients. Sealants are a thin plastic layer applied to the chewing surfaces of teeth. This is an extra pre-cautionary measure that significantly decreases the odds of tooth decay.
We highly recommend children get sealants placed on their premolar and molars as these teeth are the most likely to form cavities from childhood to adolescence. This can also be a great option for adults who regularly eat sweets or drink acidic beverages like coffee.
